Β-alanine - the active substance of the drug - is a natural amino acid in which the amino group is in the β-position. unlike its steric analogue of α-alanine, β-alanine does not have a chiral center. the chemical structure of β-alanine is completely different from the structure of the hormone.
β-alanine is synthesized in the body and is necessary for the production of carnosine and pantothenic acid, and is also an agonist of glycine receptors in the brain.
WITHmax Carnosine is noted in the brain and muscles, it regulates intracellular calcium levels and the strength of muscle contractions. A sufficient amount of carnosine normalizes the functioning of the muscle layer of blood vessels and contributes to the normalization of thermoregulation.
β-alanine prevents a sharp release of bradykinin and histamine without showing antihistamine activity (does not block H1histamine receptors).
β-Alanine acts exclusively on peripheral cutaneous vasodilation, which determines vegetative disorders such as hot flashes, sensation of warmth, fever, and headache.
At the physiological level, hot flashes (vasomotor symptoms of menopause) are caused by the involvement of thermoregulatory centers in the hypothalamus, which leads to peripheral vasodilation. This is the result of a mechanism that is activated when the balance of cerebral neurotransmitters is disturbed, which occurs after the cessation of hormone secretion by the ovaries. The drug helps to saturate the peripheral receptors of the neurotransmitters involved in this process.
The use of β-alanine also has a positive effect on concentration and memory.
Menopause-related hot flashes.
1-2 tablets per day (before the main meal). the maximum daily dose is 3 tablets. the duration of therapy is at least 5-10 days (until the cessation of tides).
If hot flashes resume, the duration of therapy is not limited (during the entire period of clinical manifestations of vasomotor disorders).
Individual hypersensitivity to the active substance or other components of the drug.
Gluten hypersensitivity / intolerance (the preparation contains wheat starch).
In isolated cases of paresthesia (usually limbs); allergic reactions (including a rash on the skin and mucous membranes, flushing of the skin, itching, urticaria); hematomas.
Applied in the period of premenopause and menopause (of various etiologies), as well as in the postmenopausal period, before hormone replacement therapy and in combination with it.
The use of β-alanine does not lead to fluid retention and weight gain; sedation is absent.
The development of adverse reactions from the skin requires discontinuation of therapy.
Symptoms of addiction to β-alanine have not been identified.
Do not use during pregnancy or lactation, as well as in the childrens age group.
Does not change the reaction rate when driving vehicles or other mechanisms.
There is no interaction with hormones.
It can be combined with antipsychotics or weak barbiturates.
There are no data on overdose cases.
At a temperature of ≤25 ° c out of the reach of children.
