active ingredient: hyaluronic acid;
1 ml of the solution contains 2 mg of sodium hyaluronate;
excipients: citric acid anhydrous, sodium citrate, sorbitol (E 420), water for injection.
Dosage form. Eye drops.
Basic physical and chemical properties: transparent colorless solution.
Pharmacotherapeutic group. Products used in ophthalmology. Artificial tear fluid substitutes and other neutral preparations. Code ATX S01X A20.
The main goal of treating dry eyes is to increase the stability and volume of the precorneal tear film. Hyaluronic acid, which is part of the preparation in the form of sodium hyaluronate, has a chemical structure, molecular weight and rheological properties similar to mucin - a component of human tears. Thanks to its properties, hyaluronic acid moisturizes the eye without compromising vision. In addition, its ability to bind water allows you to keep the surface of the eye moist.
When applied topically, hyaluronic acid increases the stability of the precorneal tear film, has a positive effect on the epithelial layer, increases the volume of tear fluid and corneal moisture, and reduces the evaporation of tears from the surface of the eye.
Sodium hyaluronate is not absorbed after topical application. There are no facts that would indicate that hyaluronic acid is able to penetrate the cornea. Even after direct injection into the inner chamber of the eye, only immeasurably small concentrations of hyaluronic acid were found in the blood circulation, which were rapidly metabolized by the liver; therefore, when using the drug, the development of systemic toxic reactions is not expected.
Symptomatic treatment of corneal and conjunctival dryness (dry eye syndrome), including severe forms, as well as after surgical interventions.
Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug.
Interactions with other drugs and other types of interactions.
Concomitant use of Hilo-KOMOD® Forte eye drops with other ophthalmic medications should be avoided. If such a need still exists, these drugs should be instilled no later than 30 minutes before applying Hilo-KOMOD® Forte eye drops. However, eye ointments should always be applied last.
Since with topical ophthalmic application, the drug immediately reaches the target organ and shows primarily a physical effect (moistening the surface of the eye) and does not have a systemic effect, no drug interactions of the drug, except for physical interactions with topical eye drops, are expected.
The drug is compatible with all types of contact lenses and can improve the feeling of comfort when wearing contact lenses. In case of severe or persistent dry eyes, you should consult your doctor.
Use during pregnancy or lactation.
Controlled studies of the use of the drug during pregnancy or lactation have not been conducted.
However, Hilo-KOMOD® Forte can be used during pregnancy or lactation, since it does not have a systemic pharmacological effect.
Ability to influence the reaction rate when driving vehicles or other mechanisms.
In rare cases, immediately after instillation, Hilo-KOMOD® Forte eye drops can cause short-term blurred vision, even if used correctly in normal doses. Since this can increase the reaction time, it is recommended to start driving a car or working with complex mechanisms some time after instilling drops, provided that visual clarity is restored.
Dosage and administration.
Usually, 1 drop of the drug is instilled in each eye three times a day. If necessary, the frequency of instillation can be increased. A significant increase in the frequency of instillation of Hilo-KOMOD® Forte (for example, more than 10 times a day) is allowed to be carried out by the decision of an ophthalmologist and under his supervision.
In the absence of contraindications due to the underlying disease, Hilo-KOMOD® Forte can be used when wearing contact lenses, since it does not lead to the formation of a film or sediment on them.
Hilo-KOMOD ® Forte is intended for individual use by only one person. The doctor determines the duration of treatment individually.
When instilling eye drops, avoid any contact of the tip of the container with the eye or skin.
Method of application
1. Remove the lid from the container.
2.before applying the drug for the first time, turn the container upside down and press on the bottom of the container until the first drops appear on the tip hole. The container is now ready for further use.
3.tilt your head slightly back, pull back the lower eyelid, and push down hard and quickly on the bottom of the container: this activates the mechanism for releasing one drop. Thanks to the special KOMOD® valve system, the size of each drop and the release rate will remain the same, but this will require more pressing force than for conventional drop bottles. Slowly close the eye so that the liquid is evenly distributed over its surface.
4.close the container with a cap immediately after use. After instilling eye drops, make sure that the tip of the container is dry. If liquid appears on it, avoid any contact with the eye or skin.
Note. The KOMOD® system allows you to release 10 ml of the solution, which is approximately 300 drops. For technical reasons, a small amount of drops remains in the container at the end of use.
There are no data on the use of the drug for the treatment of children.
No overdose cases have been reported.
Since Hilo-KOMOD ® Forte does not contain preservatives, it is well tolerated even with prolonged use. In extremely rare cases, hypersensitivity reactions have been reported, such as irritation, burning sensation, redness, pain, itching, swelling of the eyelids or lacrimation, which disappeared immediately after discontinuation of the drug.
