Pharmacological properties.


In functional cardiac disorders, the drug has a cardioprotective and antioxidant effect.

Cardiolin is a combined preparation containing an extract from medicinal plants: spring Adonis grass, which has a mild diuretic, sedative effect and has antiarrhythmic properties; Juniper fruits, which have a diuretic effect; arnica flowers, which have cardioprotective activity; mint leaves, which show moderate antispasmodic, sedative, choleretic activity.

The drug has a positive effect on the metabolism in the myocardium, liver, in particular, it suppresses the processes of lipid peroxidation, increases the activity of antioxidant enzymes, the energy balance of cells, stimulates the synthesis of adenyl nucleotides, glycogenolysis, and increases the activity of a number of Krebs cycle enzymes.

The drug has a mild sedative effect, reduces the manifestations of diencephalic disorders, improves the tolerance of physical exertion, and improves performance.  

Clinical characteristics.


In the complex treatment of neurocirculatory dystonia, heart neuroses, coronary heart disease (angina pectoris of tension I–II FC).


Depression, alcoholism in the Anamnesis, simultaneous use of drugs containing alcohol, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, cirrhosis of the liver, taking neuroleptics and tranquilizers, hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, severe bradycardia, atrioventricular block, glycoside intoxication, WPW syndrome, severe kidney disease.

Interactions with other drugs and other types of interactions.

Concomitant use with cardiac glycosides is undesirable, since the drug contains Adonis grass and possible manifestations of toxicity.

Since the drug Cardiolin contains 40% ethyl alcohol and Adonis grass, it is possible to potentiate the effect of sleeping pills, tranquilizers, sedatives, neuroleptics, and the drug can also increase the cardiotonic effect and toxicity of cardiac glycosides.

When used concomitantly with class IA antiarrhythmic drugs (quinidine, procainamide, disopyramide), calcium supplements, laxatives and glucocorticosteroids, their effect and toxic effect are enhanced.

Application features.

During treatment with the drug, you should refrain from drinking alcoholic beverages.

Patients with gastroesophageal reflux should not use the drug, as heartburn may increase.

Patients with cholelithiasis and other diseases of the biliary tract should use the drug with caution.

Use during pregnancy or lactation.

Use is contraindicated.

Ability to influence the reaction rate when driving vehicles or other mechanisms.

During the period of use of the drug, it is forbidden to drive a car and work with potentially dangerous mechanisms.

Dosage and administration.

Adults inside 20-30 drops 2-3 times a day 30 minutes before or 1 hour after meals. The drug can be diluted with water in a ratio of 1:3 or 1:5.

The duration of the course of treatment is determined by the doctor individually; the average duration is 20-30 days.


There is no experience of using it for children.


With a significant increase in the dose, drowsiness, dyspeptic disorders, allergic reactions may occur, requiring discontinuation of the drug and symptomatic therapy.

Adverse reactions.

Cardiolin can cause hypersensitivity, dyspeptic disorders, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, drowsiness, increased diuresis, sweating, chills.
