Pharmacological properties

ceruloplasmin is a multifunctional enzyme containing copper, which is a glycoprotein of the alpha-globulin fraction of human donor plasma. increases the stability of cell membranes (antioxidant effect, inhibition of lipid peroxidation), participates in ion exchange, immunity reactions, stimulates hematopoiesis (red sprout of blood formation), reduces intoxication. participates in nonspecific protective processes of the body from harmful factors.

Pharmacokinetics It has not been investigated due to the natural origin of the drug.

Indications

  • To reduce intoxication and maintain immunoreactivity during complex combined chemotherapy of cancer patients, including patients with hemoblastosis with moderate intoxication; during preoperative preparation (especially debilitated patients with anemia, intoxication and exhaustion); in the early postoperative period (with massive operating blood loss, purulent-septic complications); to stimulate hematopoiesis; in the complex treatment of patients with acute and chronic osteomyelitis.

Application

The drug is administered in / drip at a rate of 30 drops per minute.

Before administration, dilute the contents of the vial or ampoule in 200 ml of 5% glucose solution or 0.9% sodium chloride solution. A single dose is usually 60-100 mg daily or every other day, depending on the condition of the patient. The course of treatment consists of 5 injections. The total dose is 300-500 mg.

To cancer patients during the preoperative preparation, Biocerulin should be administered at a dose of 0.5 mg / kg body weight daily or every other day. The course of treatment (taking into account the patients condition) - up to 10 injections. In the postoperative period, the dose of the drug is determined by the amount of blood loss and ranges from 0.5 mg / kg (with low blood loss) to 1.5 mg / kg (with large blood loss). Enter daily for 5-8 days.

During chemotherapy, a single dose is 1-1.5 mg / kg, the course of treatment is 10-14 injections (3 injections per week). For patients with hemoblastosis, a single dose is 0.5–1 mg / kg, the course of treatment is 5–8 injections (daily, 1 time per day). In acute osteomyelitis, a single dose is 1 mg / kg. The course of treatment consists of 5 injections, which are prescribed daily or every other day. In chronic osteomyelitis, the drug is administered 2 mg / kg 2-3 times with an interval of 1-2 days, and then 1 mg / kg 3-7 times every other day.

Children. The use in children has not been investigated, therefore, the drug should not be prescribed in this category of patients.

Contraindications

The use of the drug is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to drugs of protein origin.

Side effects

When using the drug are possible: sensation of hot flashes, nausea, chills, short-term increase in body temperature, skin rashes (urticaria), allergic reactions, reactions at the injection site. in these cases, the dose and rate of administration should be reduced or the drug should be discontinued. clinical experience has shown that side effects are most often associated with an increase in the rate of drug infusion. with slow drip administration, the drug is usually well tolerated.

special instructions

If the patient receives large doses of corticosteroid drugs and there is a risk of developing steroid diabetes mellitus, biocerulin should be dissolved in 0.9% sodium chloride solution. the drug contains 46 mg / dose of sodium. care should be taken when used in patients who use a sodium-control diet.

Use during pregnancy or lactation. It has not been investigated, therefore, the drug should not be prescribed in this category of patients.

The ability to influence the reaction rate when driving vehicles or other mechanisms.Due to the possibility of adverse reactions, the reaction rate may decrease when driving vehicles or working with other mechanisms.

Interactions

With the introduction of the drug, it is not allowed to mix it with other drugs. with the simultaneous use of the drug, diluted in 5% glucose solution, and corticosteroid drugs in high doses, the risk of developing diabetes is increased.

Incompatibility. With the introduction of the drug, it is not allowed to mix it with other drugs.

Overdose

Not observed.
