Abiflox solution for infusion is used to treat bacterial inflammatory processes in adults caused by bacteria sensitive to levofloxacin:

  • pneumonia;
  • complicated urinary tract infections (including pyelonephritis);
  • infections of the skin and soft tissues;
  • chronic bacterial prostatitis.

Active substance: levofloxacin;

100 ml of the solution contains levofloxacin hemihydrate equivalent to 500 mg of levofloxacin.

Excipients: sodium chloride, dilute hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide, water for injection.

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug of the central nervous system disease (low convulsive threshold, epilepsy) tendon damage associated with taking fluoroquinolones.

Mode of application

Before use, it is necessary to conduct a test for sensitivity.

The drug should be used immediately after perforation of the rubber stopper (within 3:00) to prevent any bacterial contamination. Protection against light during infusion is not needed.

Given the biological equivalence of the oral and parenteral forms, the same dosage is possible.

Dosage depends on the type and severity of the infection.

Application features

Pregnant women

The drug is contraindicated during pregnancy or lactation. If pregnancy is diagnosed during treatment, this should be reported to the doctor.

The use of the drug is contraindicated in children (under 18 years of age), since damage to the articular cartilage is not excluded.

Patients who drive vehicles, work with machines and mechanisms, should take into account possible adverse reactions from the nervous system (dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, impaired vision and hearing, impaired movement processes, including while walking).

The most important suspected overdose symptoms relate to the central nervous system (dizziness, impaired consciousness, and seizures); reactions from the digestive tract, such as nausea and erosion of the mucous membranes. When doses exceeding therapeutic are used, the QT interval is prolonged. In case of overdose, careful monitoring of the patient, including ECG, is necessary.

Side effects

Infections and infestations: mycoses (and proliferation of other resistant microorganisms).

Storage conditions
